Senior health fair Jan. 26

The Douglas County Senior Center’s 12th annual Senior Health Fair is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 26 in the Valley Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn, Minden. The event is open to the public. Free admission.
The health fair provides an opportunity to address concerns with health care professional and to learn about health care providers and services in the community. Many local organizations will be on hand to answer questions. Booths include information on vision, hearing, Medicare counseling, Alzheimer’s support, residential care, area hospitals, home care, TRIAD, and Young at Heart Senior Citizen’s Club.
Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
Carson Valley Medical Center offers wellness panels, glucose screening and other blood screenings for fees payable by cash or check at the time of the draw.
No appointment or physicians orders necessary.

Available tests are a wellness panel with comprehensive panel and lipid panel for $40, complete blood count for $25, prostate evaluation for $30, thyroid evaluation for $35, and a free glucose screening. The wellness panel and glucose screening require a 12-hour fast.
