Sagehens Christmas party is fun for kids
December 9, 2004
Holiday music filled the air promising an afternoon of fun and surprises for 49 excited children and their parents who attended the annual Topaz Sagehens Children’s Christmas Party at the Topaz Ranch Estates Park Building on Dec. 4.
The room was transformed into a Christmas wonderland with a large Christmas tree and a table filled with gifts. After lunch all of the children were given a Christmas decoration to color they could take home.
Sagehen Diana Buffaloe led the children in singing Christmas carols. Everyone joined in while some of the children went up front singing, and dancing to the music and marching around the room.
Pretty soon Santa Claus arrived with a “Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas, boys and girls.” Santa sat in his special chair by the Christmas tree inviting children to come up and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.
Then Santa passed out presents to every child. Drawings were held with Shelby Wills, 3, winning a Santa Bear, and Jason Wood, 3, winning a Santa dog.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Sagehens Children’s Christmas Party a big success. Sagehens Helen Lee and Vicki Youngman co-chairpersons for this event, the kitchen staff for a wonderful lunch, the musical talents of Diana Buffaloe leading everyone in the songs of the season, and Gary Ray who was jolly Santa Clause.
