Private family services were held for Mary S. Clark, 90, of Gardnerville who died Sept. 7 at the Carson Valley Residential Care Center.
Mrs. Clark was a Gardnerville resident for the past 14 years, coming to the area from Elko where she had lived since 1920. She was born Nov. 17, 1913 in Winnemucca to Edward Michael Sommers and Mary Adele Rote Sommers. She married Marion Thompson Clark on Jan.1, 1939. She was a telephone operator for the California-Pacific Utilities Company, retiring in 1975.
She was preceded in death by her husband “Tom”, and her brothers, Gene Sommers and Jack Sommers.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Babb of Gardnerville, a sister, Beverly P. Calkins of Heron, Mont., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry’s Funeral Home and Crematory of Carson City. The family suggests memorial contributions in Mrs. Clark’s name to the Barton Hospital Foundation Hospice Fund, P.O. Box 7316, South Lake Tahoe, Calif. 96158.
