New Year’s Eve gala a success
January 27, 2011
Success for this community event was not measured in how much money we made.
Success was measured in providing a great new year’s eve atmosphere in a beautifully decorated hall with adequate room for all to dance to a live 15-piece band, food and drink, free champagne at midnight, and all at an affordable ticket price.
Our goal was our commitment to our Knights Council to make this a break-even event and not dip into council funds already budgeted for various charitable causes.
We were able to succeed with the help of many local businesses and other organization.
A special thanks goes to Daisy Bankofier, the new owner of the Entertainer who provided party rental items and beautifully decorated the hall at no cost.

A thanks also to the JT Basque Bar & Dining Room, Tahoe Ridge Winery, CVI Steakhouse, Minden Food Company (Formerly Baroni and Reed), the Carson Valley Country Club, and Hamdogs who provided dinner coupons for door prizes.
Also, thanks to the many businesses who displayed our event flyer and especially The Record-Courier who included and article and placed the event in their calendar.
Finally we want to thank many others who helped putting the event on especially our bartender, Morey Lawton and his crew, and John and Leslie Solt for food preparation and serving. Seeing the smiles on the dancing couples made it all worthwhile.
