Knights of Columbus cioppino dinner Feb. 12
January 11, 2011
The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus annual Cioppino Dinner is Feb. 12 at St. Gall Pastoral Center in Gardnerville.
Cioppino seafood stew includes shrimp, crab, clams, and white fish in an Italian tomato sauce base. It will be served with green salad, French bread, dessert, and nonalcoholic beverages. A no-host bar is offered. Steak may be substituted for cioppino.
Tickets are $30 per person, and are available in the church office until Feb. 4.
The Knights cioppino dinner was first served in 2006 to revive a tradition established in the 1960s by the Pagni family, who operated the Jubilee Club Italian restaurant in Pleasant Valley. The family hosted an annual cioppino at the former Pyrenees Hotel in Gardnerville. The Pyrenees used to occupy the two-story building next to Sharkey’s and was owned by Joe and Jeanne Micheo.
The 4th Degree assembly of Carson Valley, Carson City, Smith Valley and Dayton supports men and women of the armed forces.
