Knights bingo for the City of Refuge
October 6, 2011
The Sept. 23 Knights bingo was dedicated to the City of Refuge located in the beautiful Pinenut Valley of Carson Valley. The City of Refuge is totally supported by charitable donations, and knights donated $1000 from the proceeds of this dedicated bingo.
The City of Refuge is a ministry of Grace Community Church that provides housing for pregnant women who have chosen to give their baby the ultimate gift – life. Started by Judge David Gamble and his wife, Diane, in 1993, the women are provided shelter, food, counseling, life skills, education, and love in a supportive family environment. Many women with unplanned pregnancies don’t have the “choice” to carry their baby to term unless they have outside help. City of Refuge exists to provide those moms with the option to have their baby while living in a place of safety and security.
The Knights of Columbus hosts Knights Bingo Nights on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at the Saint Gall Pastoral Center located at 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. These events, open to everyone over the age of 21, provide funds to support various community projects and other public needs.
