GrooveSession plays tonight at Jethro’s

Funk jazz blues rock band GrooveSession plays 10 p.m. to 1 p.m. tonight at Jethro’s Oven & Grill, 1281 Kimmerling Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Country acoustic artist Joe Neal opens the show.

GrooveSession is brothers Manny Sanchez and Ronnie Sanchez on drums and bass, and guitarist Sarvin Manguait. The band blends rock ‘n’ roll, funk, jazz, soul and blues with influences from Led Zeppelin to Herbie Hancock.

The Southern California group appears in Reno, Truckee, Lake Tahoe and played at last summer’s Music in the Meadows festival in the Genoa area.

GrooveSession’s newest discs are “Memoirs of NIWA” and “Warriors for Peace and the Positive Movement.”
