Douglas County 4-H families send care packages to troops
November 25, 2011
4-H Teen Leadership members hosted “Support Our Troops” night for all 4-H members and their families. More than 150 participants showed their support by bringing items to fill care packages. 4-H Members also wrote letters and drew pictures to include in the packages. In all, they filled 24 boxes to go to local troops from Douglas County who are serving overseas. 4-H members also raised $360 dollars through their annual pet treat fundraiser to pay for postage. 4-H Teen Leadership would like to thank the Gardnerville Post Office for all their help. 4-H is a Youth Development Program of the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
