Dakota Organization seeks directing intern
March 9, 2007
A Minden-based theatre arts group, The Dakota Organization, is seeking applicants for the position of directing intern for an upcoming production. This non-paid position will teach an intern about many aspects of directing for the stage, including processes related to auditions and casting, rehearsals, technical elements and other various production needs.
The play, “Sylvia,” by A. R. Gurney, will be directed by Rod Hearn, an experienced actor and director, last seen in The Dakota Organization’s production of “Lips Together, Teeth Apart.” Auditions are slated for April, with performances in July. Applicants should have evening availability and be eager to learn the “behind the scenes” elements of play production. The Dakota Organization hopes to develop more directing talent in Carson Valley, with successful applicants possibly directing future productions.
Interviews for interested applicants will take place by appointment only on Saturday. To make an appointment, applicants should call The Dakota Organization office in Minden Village at 450-0155.
