Corporations are not people
October 20, 2011
Today, for the first time in many years, I am filled with hope for America. I have watched in despair as solid hard-working citizens across this country have had their life savings looted by Wall Street ‘s blind criminal greed. With our retirement plans in ruins, we have turned to our “leaders”, only to be lied to and lectured at by both political parties.
But now, we the 99 percent are waking up! We are taking back what belongs to us! We hold these truths to be self evident: That corporations that are too big to fail, are just too big… period. That corporations are not people, no matter what corrupt members of the Supreme Court declare. That corporations, being legally bound to make profit and growth their paramount priority, cannot be expected to act in a morally responsible manner. That corporate leaders who have brought the world to the brink of absolute economic collapse, should be removed from positions of financial responsibility, not given bonuses and promotions.
Yes, this is class warfare. And it has been waged against us for the last 30 years. The only difference is, now we are finally fighting back, as a community, firmly but nonviolently. For more info, see http://www.meetup.com/occupytogether/Carson-City-NV/397852/
