Adopt a flower basket
January 25, 2011
Surprise your Valentine with a basket of flowers that lasts all summer long while becoming part of the downtown Gardnerville beautification project.
The Main Street Gardnerville program offers sponsorships of public flower baskets for Valentine’s Day.
Flowering baskets are hung in June and displayed through the growing season along Highway 395. The goal is to hang 58 baskets along Main Street Gardnerville.
The flowering basket program supports horticultural programs at Douglas and Smith Valley high schools, and China Spring Youth Camp and Aurora Pines.
The donation amount is $75 per basket. Participants receive a card with a photo of one of the flower baskets. To sponsor a basket, call the Gardnerville Town Office at 782-7134.
