Sandra Lee Bacus (wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend, intellect, and reflective soul) was born June 8, 1951 in Warren, Ohio. Sandra passed October 2, 2016. Sandra was the first born child to Rupert "Ron" Rose and Dorothy "Toots" Rose.
At the age of eight, Sandra relocated to California with her parents and four siblings. Sandra was raised in a loving, musical family in beautiful Lake Tahoe, and often reflected upon her joyous childhood. She attended South Lake Tahoe High School. In her formative years she enjoyed skiing, singing, playing guitar, and spending time with family. She later married and had two daughters, Jennifer and Kerry.
In 1984, Sandra moved to the Carson Valley with her husband Gerald. She worked at the Douglas County Library for 15 years. She was an avid reader, had a sincere love of books, and found value in all things educational. Sandra's strong inclination for obtaining knowledge was admirable.
During her time in Carson Valley she raised her two girls, enjoyed gardening, cooking, studying world philosophies, reading, music, sewing, and spending time with family. Sandra is known
as an eternal optimist, dreamer, thinker, and she naturally found the good in each and every soul with whom she crossed paths.
Sandra is survived by her loving spouse of 34 years, Gerald Bacus; mother, Dorothy (Toots) Rose; siblings, Rhonda Tremoureux, Jeff Rose, Lynda Rose Salmon, David Rose; daughters, Jennifer Bacus Kelso, Kerry Beard; grandchildren, Connor and Katelyn Kelso, Christopher Beard.
Sandra was gracious, beautiful, and strong. She was a champion of dreams, genuine, and truly authentic. She brought incredible light to this world, and she will be greatly missed.
