Norman Lawrence Prupas, 73, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Renown South Meadows Medical Center in Reno after a significant struggle with lung disease. He was born on November 6, 1941 in Burbank, CA, to Robert and Berniece Prupas. Norm was a 1957 graduate of Las Vegas High School and moved to Lake Tahoe shortly afterward. In 1962, he met the love of his life and soon-to-be bride of over 51 years, Audrey (McDonald) Prupas. In 1963, he and his father Robert "Bobby Page" founded Bobby Pageís Dry Cleaners at South Lake Tahoe. Over the decades, Bobby Page's became the largest dry cleaning operation in Northern Nevada. In 1985, the Prupas' relocated to Reno. A talented developer with an entrepreneurial knack, Norm along with his brother, Dr. Malin Prupas, developed many successful local business ventures. Norm enjoyed spending time with his family and his close circle of Nevada friends. He was an avid car buff, enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, and in his younger days was known to have covered many miles on his motorcycle in the summer months and via snowmobile in the winter. He is survived by his wife, Audrey; daughter Sheree (Stephen) Tibbals, Winnemucca; daughter, Natalie (Patrick) Pramenko, Littleton, CO; son, Colonel Aaron (Amie) Prupas, Washington, D.C. He was the proud grandfather of Megan (Darrin Powers), Mandy (Will Koby), Mollie, Morgan, and Ryan and great-grandfather of Kourtney, Kami, and George. He is also survived by his brother, Malin (Barbara) Prupas, Reno; sister-in-law, Joan Lerma, San Francisco; brothers-in-law, Robert McDonald, Reno, and David Leid, Carson City, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Prupas, Reno; sister, Roxanne Leid, Carson City. Norman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. A special thank you to the staff at Renown South Meadows for their loving care and support. A celebration of Norm's life will be held at the residence of Malin and Barbara Prupas from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015. A private inurnment will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norman's name to the Morill Hall Prupas Family Study at the University of Nevada, Reno, or your favorite charity.
