Harriet Knauer Kelly
October 19, 2016
January 31, 1936 – October 13, 2016
During the morning of October 13, 2016, at her home in Woodfords, California, Harriet passed peacefully on to eternal life.
Harriet's birth followed her older brother, Francis, and sister, Mary Ann, as the third child of their parents, Francis and Lynne Knauer, on January 31, 1936, in Jacksonville, Florida. Harriet's brother, George, joined his brother and sisters a little later. After attending the University of Miami for a year and the University of Florida for a year, Harriet moved further north to the Big Apple, where she attended and graduated from Saint John's University in Brooklyn in 1958. She then spent a few years teaching grammar school students in New York City, Alaska, Germany, and Long Island, New York.
After marrying Tom, and living in New York City for a short time, she and Tom moved to California in 1966, where they had their six children, many foster children, and where she participated in Bible Study groups, in order to become closer to Jesus. Now she will be closer than she ever has been.
Harriet is survived by her husband of fifty years, Tom, and their six children: Tommy, Lynne, Sean, Danny, Carol, and Josh, their spouses, as well as sixteen grandchildren and her brother George.
Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Crossroads Nazarene Church located at 1788 Pinenut Road, Gardnerville, Nevada at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow.
