Douglas Alexander Matley, 63, formerly of Gardnerville, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in San Francisco. A member of an early Nevada Pioneer family, he was born in Reno Nevada to Wayne and Alouise Matley, on September 13, 1952 He attended Our Lady of the Snows in Reno Nevada and graduated from Douglas County High School in 1972. He furthered his education at the University of Nevada Reno, and University of California, Sacramento, majoring in music. Doug loved playing and creating music, his primary musical instrument being the concert harp which he played professionally. His true passion was researching different Religions and writing esoteric themed material. Douglas left this earth a wandering soul, and we hope and pray that this next journey will be his best. He is survived by his three brothers, a sister and two nephews. He was pre-deceased by his Father and Mother.

Cremation was under the direction of The Neptune Society. Interment will be next to his mother, at the Masonic Memorial Gardens in Reno Nevada.
