Nelson, Nadeau, Fast to speak at Rotary prayer breakfast
According to organizer Gail Della Vedova, the Minden Rotary Club’s first Community Prayer Breakfast is designed to bring the community together.
The Rev. Pete Nelson, Father Bill Nadeau and Monte Fast, executive director of the Friends in Service Helping (FISH) organization, will be among the speakers at what the club hopes to be an annual breakfast.
Members of the group chose Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini as the first person to be honored.
The sheriff is well known and liked by most people, Della Vedova said, and he is active and supports many community activities.
The breakfast will be held at the Carson Valley Inn on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
Next year’s prayer breakfast will be bigger, club members hope.
“We hope next year to involve other groups and make it larger,” Della Vedova said. “We feel it’s important for community leaders to get together for the good things.”
A full breakfast buffet will be held from 7 to 8:30 a.m., and the public is invited.
Tickets are $15. For information or to make reservations, call Della Vedova at 782-7880 or 782-5974.
