Music festival is today and tomorrow at PWLMS

The Northern Zone Nevada Music Educators Association will hold the annual Honor Band and Choir Festival today and Thursday at Douglas High School.

The annual Honor Band and Choir Concert will be on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School cafetorium. Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family.

The guest conductor for the band will be Geoff Igarashi from North Tahoe High School. The guest conductor for the choir will be Andy Sonnemaker from Galena High School in Reno.

Douglas High School choir students who will be participating are Kristen Schell, Lauren Davis, Chelsea Rowe, Maren Parsons, Dece Rucklos, Crystal Blankenship, Amanda Crandall, Renee Lietz, Sarah Rhodes, Melody Carter, Amy Zabelsky, Mary Zimmerman, Melissa Trent, Lauren Myers, Bonnie Lee, Christina Guadagni, Alicia Burns, Kelly McIntosh, Lacy Anscott, Richard Ridley, James Jackson, Dan Dimick, Larry Rubald, Randy Cox, Matt Parra, Anthony Janssen, Josh Van Bruggen, David Stockman, Jed Kuhn, Wayne Archer and Pat Atwood.

From Carson Valley Middle School will be Alison Snyder, Sarah Zabelsky and Jenny Cupp.

The band students to participate are, from Douglas High School, Rose Barrett, Rachel Schumacher, Sara Whitaker, Jason Smith, Amber Smith, Stephanie Smith, Ian Chase, Justin McLelland, Dan Hickman, Cassie Schumacher, Jenny English, Cari Robinson, Joe Bradshaw, and Rachael Gero; from Carson Valley Middle School, Rebecca Smith and Alyssa English; and from Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, April Crandall.
