Missing South Lake Tahoe woman found
As of Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 1:45pm, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department confirms that Tara Johnson has been located with her Chihuahua. She was discovered walking in the area of Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Al Tahoe Boulevard. She was wet with the rain and cold, but otherwise seemed healthy. Johnson explained she had walked away of her own accord and found shelter on her own last night. There appears to have been no foul play involved in this case. Johnson has been released back to her care giver and this case has been cleared.
Johnson was last seen leaving her apartment near Bonanza Avenue and F St. at about 10:30 a.m. to walk her dog.
She was last seen wearing blue sweatpants, a black jacket, turquoise earrings and three necklaces. Johnson suffers from medical conditions, which require her to take medication and has a diminished mental capacity. For these reasons, authorities consider her an at-risk missing person.
