Minden Rotary offers annual comedy for secretaries’ day

Staff reports

What are you getting your administrative assistant for the holiday formerly referred to as Secretaries Day? Flowers, candy, a cute card, a gift certificate?

Why not give her a festive lunch in a room full of fun-loving people and 30-plus minutes of side-splitting laughs?

It’s all “part of the program” at the Minden Rotary Club’s “Comedy Tribute to the Administrative Professionals” luncheon on Wednesday, April 26, in the Carson Valley Inn’s Shannon Ballroom.

Featured entertainer Joan Fagan has appeared on several “Evening at the Improv” programs, the “Jerry Lewis Telethon,” “Girls Night Out” and in dozens of TV commercials including Toyota, Alaska Airlines, Alka-Seltzer, Shout and more. She has appeared at major casinos in both Las Vegas and Reno and was the opening act for Melissa Manchester at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas.

Fagan had a recurring role on ABC’s “Drew Carey Show” as Faith, president of the Optimist Club. She is currently filming a movie, “Race to Space,” in which she plays the wife of the character played by James Woods.

Ticket are $25 which includes lunch, tax, gratuity and the comedy show. Advance reservations are a must and tickets can be obtained from John Hamer at 782-2240, ext. 216, or by contacting any member of Minden Rotary.
