Methodist choir offers cantata on Sunday

Staff reports

The Chancel Choir of the Carson Valley United Methodist Church will present its annual Christmas cantata on Sunday morning, Dec. 19, at both the 8:30 and 10:30 services.

Choir members will be performing a new work by Joseph M. Martin entitled “Canticle of Joy,” which, according to Cindy McIntosh, choir director, is “the most difficult selection we’ve ever attempted. However, it is also an extremely beautiful body of music, which the choir has thoroughly enjoyed learning.”

Soloists include Kathy Wicker, Cathy Hearn, Rod Hearn, Mike Jessup, Al Baumruck, Ann Delahay, Alan Schachtely and Cindy McIntosh.

The entire community is invited to come and share this musical offering, McIntosh said. The church is located at 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville. For questions, contact the church office at 782-4600.
