Men’s, Women’s Golf Club offer tourney in July
Members of the Carson Valley Men’s and Women’s Golf Club hope you have gathered and dusted off your clubs and golf balls and perhaps taken a few practice swings for the first “Mulligan Stew” Golf Tournament at Carson Valley Golf Course, 1027 Riverview Drive, Gardnerville, Sunday, July 9.
The Carson Valley Community Food Closet will be the recipient of all proceeds.
Tee time will be at 8:30 a.m. with a four-person scramble, blind draw, shotgun start. Each player will receive two Mulligans for a donation of 5 pounds of non-perishable food to be donated to the food closet. There is a limit of two Mulligans per player, but there is no limit on the amount of food donations. The Carson Valley Community Food Closet van will be at the course to accept the donated food.
Green fees of $45 per player include cart and a late lunch at the Carson Valley Country Club. Non-players may enjoy the lunch for a donation of $8. Many donated tee and raffle prizes will be available.
Historically, summer is a slack time for food donations, and volunteers at the food closet, as well as the recipients sincerely appreciate your participation in this tournament. The food closet, a non-profit organization manned solely by volunteers, provides food year-round to families who qualify through Douglas County Social Services.
