Medical center volunteers to hold book fair

Staff reports

Carson Valley Medical Center volunteers will hold their ninth Book Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the medical center at 1107 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

The book fairs were started in 1996 and are held in May and November and at the Carson Valley Medical Center Health Fairs in October of each year, said Sharon Stockman, administrative secretary at the center.

All of the profit from these book fairs goes to Carson Valley charities, such as the American Cancer Society, Douglas County unit, and the Family Support Council. The volunteers hope to raise enough money to donate at least $1,000 to worthy causes in Carson Valley this Christmas.

On sale are over 150 different books in 12 different categories. Purchasers will some up to 70 percent off retail price.
