Masons dedicate Douglas High STEM cornerstone
Carson Valley Mason’s Lodges 33 and 12 presented a new cornerstone for the Dr. Lisa Noonan STEM Center on Saturday.
Nevada Masonic Grand Master Dan Newman attended the ceremony, where Douglas High Principal Marty Swisher used a ceremonial trowel to apply cement to the stone.
“Literally, this building would not have been designed and created the way it was without her vision,” Swisher said of Noonan. “So I think it’s very appropriate that we linked her name with this building for the future.”
“Anything good that happens in the school district is a direct result of the employees, students, families and community making a concerted effort to have it happen,” Noonan said about her time as superintendent. “I have been blessed to work with a school board that supported my efforts and ideas. Most people don’t realize what an important dynamic that is for a school district.”
