Mary Fair will sign books at sale this Saturday

Mary Fair will sign her book during the second in a series of monthly antiques and collectibles sales sponsored by the Carson Valley Historical Society will be held Saturday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the front lawn of the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

“The historical society is pleased to have Mary (Settelmeyer) Fair joining us at 1 p.m. to sign her book, ‘Spinnings: With Words, With Pictures,'” said Lois Storke, vice president.

The book is available at the museum gift shop for $20. This is a collection of her newspaper columns, short stories and poetry. Fair is an award-winning columnist and wrote for The Record-Courier for several years before retiring.

The historical society will have a book sale table and a variety of old-time collectible items for purchase. The society will sell doughnuts and coffee, hot dogs and sodas during the day.

Other dates scheduled for antiques and collectibles sales are July 10, Aug. 14, and Sept. 11. Rental spaces are still available and open to dealers and the public.
