The B-25 Mitchell bomber Executive Sweet will be flying over Western Nevada on Wednesday and Thursday.

A World War II B-25 Mitchell bomber will be offering rides in Western Nevada at the Carson City Airport Sept. 14-15.

Operated by the American Aeronautical Foundation, Executive Sweet will be offering 30-minutes rides for $425.

Sixteen Mitchell bombers under the command of Lt. Col. James Doolittle made the first bombing raid on the Japanese home islands after taking off from the carrier USS Hornet in April 1942. Doolittle was promoted to general the day after the attack.

The visit coincides with the National Championship Air Races in Reno Sept. 14-18. To get tickets to the air races, visit airrace.org. Qualifiers are Monday through Wednesday.
