Woman reports suspicious man at Ranchos Aspen Park
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report from a Gardnerville Ranchos woman who said a man in a green Dodge Neon with California plates warned her Friday “to hold onto her child.”
The woman said she was at Ranchos Aspen Park playground about 12:30 p.m. with her child when another woman said there was a man in a green Dodge Neon in the parking lot watching her and her children.
The witness said she stayed for about 15 minutes, then left the park because she said felt uncomfortable.
She said as she walked past him in the parking lot, he said. “Hold on tight to your little one because I know where you live.”
The woman said she headed for home taking an indirect route, but the man followed her down Selkirk Drive in his vehicle at a close distance.
She said he didn’t say anything else.
The woman said he appeared to be on his cell phone and they went separate ways on Mitch Drive.
The woman said she walked back down Muir Drive, through the park to her home where she called the sheriff’s office.
The woman told deputies the vehicle had unknown California plates, and she last saw it turning northbound on Mitch Drive from Selkirk.
Deputies advised her to contact the sheriff’s office immediately if she saw the vehicle, and attempt to get the license plate number.
