woman investigated for child abuse
A Minden woman was being held on $100,000 bail after being arrested for investigation of child abuse or neglect, a felony.
Douglas County Sheriff’s records say Dawna Chrysalis Fletcher, 22, also known by the last name Holmes, was arrested at her home in the 1700 block of Pinewood Drive in Minden Monday afternoon.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Lance Modispacher said deputies and child protection workers visited the apartment based on a tip that alcohol was being provided to a 2-year-old. He said the officers saw rotten food, garbage, dirty clothes, empty alcohol containers and other debris strewn around the unit.
He said Fletcher admitted to using marijuana after leaving work early Monday, though she did not tell them where it allegedly took place.
The officers arrested Fletcher based on the admission and the condition of the apartment. The children, ages 5, 2 and 6 months, were put in protective custody.
