Woman injured when 18-wheeler can’t stop in time for traffic signal
The southbound lanes of Highway 395 are now clear after a Carson City woman was injured when an 18-wheeler couldn’t stop in time to keep from hiting the side of her silver Mitsubishi at Mica and Highway 395.
The accident was reported at 9:40 a.m.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen said the 54-year-old woman was pulling out from Mica on a green light when her vehicle was struck on the drivers side by the southbound semi hauling dogfood.
Allen said the driver of the semi was not able to stop in time for the red light.
The woman was taken by Care Flight ambulance helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
He said troopers are awaiting tow trucks for both vehicles to clear the accident.
