Woman hurt in Highway 395 accident

One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 395 near Spring Valley Road at about 3:15 p.m. Monday.
The accident involved a silver Ford Focus with California license plates and a white Mercury with Nevada plates. A female driver of one of the vehicles was injured in the accident. She was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center and then helicoptered to Renown Regional Medical Center.
Both vehicles sustained major damage in the accident, with the Focus having damage from rolling over.
Both drivers appear to have been southbound when the accident occurred. They also damaged a length of fence along the road.
The vehicles ended up next to one another well off the highway.
The accident was cleared by 4:50 p.m.
