Woman admits DUI in Indian Hills wreck
A woman who caused an Oct. 19 pile-up in Indian Hills admitted to driving under the influence on Wednesday.
Crystal Charlie Dean, 39, must get a substance abuse evaluation before she can be sentenced in the case. Her breath test was .218, according to her attorney.
She was ordered released under the supervision of the Department of Alternative Sentencing and must wear a transdermal device.
A parolee, she still faces a charge of being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm. She is scheduled to appear Nov. 22 in Douglas County District Court in connection with that charge.
■ A man accused of displaying a knife while walking out of a Walmart with a set of $80 earbuds was allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor theft charge.
Dalton Forbes, 21, was given a sentence concurrent to his prison sentence in connection with the Feb. 19 incident.
According to the sheriff’s report, Forbes took the knife he was wearing out of its sheath when approached by store security, but never actually turned and faced the officer with it in his hand.
Formes is serving 12-30 months in prison.
