WNCC Foundation sells tickets on ’76 Rolls Royce
Western Nevada Community College Foundation is making the amazing offer of a white 1976 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with red leather interior for only $10. Of course, there is a catch – the $10 buys an entry in a drawing of 2,000 tickets. The drawing will be held Aug. 18 at the annual WNCC Golf Classic, and the funds generated will benefit WNCC’s nursing students.
The WNCC Foundation hopes to raise about $20,000 if all 2,000 tickets sell. For those serious about winning the car, which is said to be in good condition and valued at $23,000, the foundation is offering 11 tickets for $100.
Albert V. Lane of Carson City is making the Rolls Royce donation. Lane has set up a scholarship for nursing students because he knows how hard it can be to work, go to school and raise a family.
“I have a friend whose sister was a single mother raising two kids. She lived with her parents, went to school full time at WNCC and worked as a janitor. Now she’s a nurse at St. Mary’s in Reno,” Lane said.
“I feel I’ve been pretty fortunate, so I wanted to help out. I felt like I owed the community something,”he continued.
Raffle tickets are available through the WNCC Foundation at 445-3240 or WNCC’s Allied Health Programs at 445-3296.
