Wishing you a great holiday
Since I won’t be writing another column before Christmas, I want to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy good friends, family and food.
The restaurant will be open 5 days a week this winter, from Wednesday to Sunday. Their hours will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on those days. They will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Be sure and get down there for one of their tasty meals.
VFW Post 3630 will be having their weekly pancake breakfasts again on the fourth Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Park Building in TRE. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. They serve eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, juice and coffee. That sounds like a pretty good meal and beats having to cook your own.
Our girls’ volleyball team deserves kudos for winning their league championship with a 14-2 record. In addition, Miranda Sturdivant and Nicole Smith were first-team picks in the division, as well as their coach, Kyle Pattison being named co-Coach of the Year. Good going, girls.
Recent power outage
Around 3 p.m. Dec. 12, several residents on the east side of the valley lost power to their homes. It was back up and running at about 6:10 p.m. We should all remember that our weather may cause this more than once this winter. It isn’t quite the problem for those who have backup generators, but we should still know that it may happen.
