Garden Cemetery board members are having a spring clean up day 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the historic cemetery.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear gloves, bring a rake or shovel and help clean up.

The Garden Cemetery has been in existence since 1898. The founding fathers are among those buried there

“Whether a member or a volunteer, please come and enjoy spending some time making things look nice for memorial Day, said board member Linda Reid in a press release. “Two of our regular volunteers have made a bench and a lovely little garden area. Please stop by, rest a bit and enjoy the view.”

Reid said community members are welcome to add an extra flowering plant to the garden any time. For more information, call Bob Chichester at 782-5414, or Reid at 782-8210.
