Vietnam vets set annual dinner

The United Veterans of Nevada will be holding the 2000 POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony at the Capitol Complex Memorial Wall in Carson City Sept. 15 at 10 a.m.

The master of ceremonies is Tom Baker of U.S. Senator Bryan’s office (D-Nevada). The guest speaker will be Steve Long, deputy executive director of the Nevada Office of Veterans Services and four-year Vietnam War POW.

The ceremony will also include a patriotic poem reading by World War II Bataan POW Ralph Levenburg and bagpipe music performed by Rick James of the Sierra Highlanders. Nevada POWs from WWII, Korea and Vietnam will be in attendance. All local veterans, families and friends are invited to attend.
