Vandals ruin Saratoga sign
Vandals destroyed a newly-erected sign at the entrance to Saratoga Springs Estates in the Johnson Lane area, and the homeowners association is asking for help.
The sign, valued at $5,300, was defaced late July 12 or earlyJuly 13 when the lettering was scraped off the stone and marble structure, said Terry Cupp, president of the association. According to Cupp, the cost to replace the lost lettering is between $300 to $400.
“When they removed the letters, they broke a lot, but carried a lot of them off as well,” said Cupp. “We are hoping that by letting the public know, someone might recognize the letters and notify the sheriff’s department.”
The letters are a light gold molded plastic, 6 inches and 8 inches in height.
If you have any information regarding the vandalism, Cupp requests that you contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 782-9935 or Cupp at 267-1595.
