Vandal hits Heritage Park; damage $3,000

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of vandalism that caused $3,000 damage to Heritage Park in Gardnerville over New Year’s weekend.
The park, located off Gilman Avenue and Courthouse Alley, was damaged between the evening of Dec. 31 and Monday morning.
Douglas County Secret Witness is offering a $250 reward.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Halsey said someone intentionally drove a vehicle on the grass doing “brodies,” spinning their tires while driving in circles.
Five valve boxes and other irrigation system parts also were damaged for a total of $3,000.
