Two report injuries in 395 collision
Icy roads and reduced visibility contributed to a vehicle accident that blocked Highway 395 the morning of Jan. 8.
Carson City resident Gullermo Leon-Garcia, 31, was northbound on Highway 395 from Minden in a Nissan pickup when he lost control and jumped the median into the southbound lanes.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the Nissan slid into the path of a silver Dodge Durango driven by Dayton resident Esther Wahl. The front of the Durango struck the right side of the Nissan.
Both Leon-Garcia and Wahl were taken for treatment by East Fork ambulance for claimed neck injuries, according to NHP spokesman Trooper Duncan Dauber.
The roads at the time were reported as being icy and visibility was reported as being poor due to fog.
