Two hurt in Highway 395 wrecks
A Gardnerville man was taken for medical treatment after his pickup hit a large rock alongside Highway 395 on Friday morning.
Tyler Earl Stater, 28, was northbound on Highway 395 when he lost control of his 2005 Dodge pickup, crossed the centerline and hit a large rock, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Lopez.
Stater was taken by East Fork ambulance to Carson Valley Medical Center where CareFlight flew him to Renown Regional Medical Center.
Lopez said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
One person received nonlife-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle accident at Highway 395 and Industrial Way on Thursday evening.
Reno resident Tom Patton was northbound on Highway 395 at around 5 p.m. in a 1991 Chevrolet Metro when a 2005 Kia driven by Gardnerville resident Michelle Garcia tried to make a left turn onto Industrial.
Lopez said the Metro struck the right rear of the Kia and spun it around. Patton was taken from the scene for medical treatment.
Lopez said Garcia was cited for failure to yield.
