A power outage took out the traffic signals in Gardnerville along Highway 395 at Gilman Avenue and Waterloo Lane.
More than 1,800 NV Energy customers were without electricity in Gardnerville and Minden.
The company reported the power was back on by 1:35 p.m.
A branch struck a power line along Toler at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, knocking power out to residents of Chichester Estates.
Southbound traffic on Highway 395 was backed up to Mill Street.
Heavy snow that started to fall around lunchtime may have contributed to the outage.
Slick conditions at Spooner Summit resulted in a report of a single vehicle accident.
An accident was also reported on Kingsbury Grade near Tramway.
