TRE gets funding for water line updates
Topaz Ranch Estates residents will have something to celebrate with a $7 million water line replacement project.
U.S Department of Agriculture Rural Development will host a project announcement and ice cream social to celebrate funding for the improvements for the Topaz Ranch Estates General Improvement District 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. The event will be held at the Topaz Ranch Community Center.
District chairman Larry Offenstein said $3 million of the project was in grants.
Rural Development funds will be used to replace approximately 53,000 linear feet of 2- and 4-inch diameter water mains in the district’s water system. The updated system will fix dead ends, pressure issues and bring fire hydrants to more areas of the community. The project will provide service to the 1,501 residents.
