Town of Genoa currently seeking board members
The Town of Genoa is seeking applications from people interested in serving on the Genoa Town Advisory Board. Two vacancies still remain.
Brian F. Crowe was already selected to fill a seat.
Genoa Town Board members are in charge of reviewing and acting on the plans, proposals and opinions that come before the board. They also perform ceremonial duties for town events. They represent the local residents and business in various discussions and negotiations, as well as serve during the town’s largest historical event, the Candy Dance.
Genoa Town Board has five board members who are elected “at large” to staggered four-year terms of office. All board offices are non-partisan. Both elected board members and candidates for office must reside within the Town of Genoa boundaries. The Town Advisory Board also participates in the development of the town budget with the town manager.
The Genoa Town Advisory Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
The Genoa Town board will select applicants to fill the vacancies and make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners who will make the official appointment.
