Tiger Coach Rippee named to Hall of Fame
Longtime Douglas High School Coach Mike Rippee was named to the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Hall of Fame.
Rippee was one of 14 inductees for 2014, according to a statement issued by the association on Thursday.
He lead Douglas High School’s football program for 27 years, and worked with the Tigers’ athletic department for a total of 34 years. His varsity record while a coach was 139-125, with multiple playoff appearances. Rippee is also known for helping to form the Northern Nevada Football Coaches Association.
Rippee and his fellow inductees will be honored 6 p.m. March 27 in Reno.
