Three China Spring escapees caught
Three boys who escaped from China Spring Youth Camp Thursday night were arrested Friday morning after burglarizing a Carson Valley home.
The boys, two aged 14 and one 16, were at China Spring on charges of drugs and theft. The escapees burglarized a residence in the East Valley area. They entered a home through an unlocked window about 10 a.m. and took a 9 mm handgun, ammunition, food and money.
The items were recovered an hour later when deputies saw the boys walking near East Valley Road. As deputies attempted to arrest them, one ran but was soon captured.
By the time the items were recovered, the home owners hadn’t even known their house was burglarized, according to a press release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
