Thieves make off with TV, sound system
July 13, 2012
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a couple who reportedly walked out of Walmart July 9 without paying for a 43-inch television and sound system.
According to reports, a man and woman entered the store at 10 a.m. at different locations. The man purchased a Samsung 43-inch plasma television and LG Soundbar and paid for the items with cash.
While the man was purchasing the items at the electronics counter, the woman is seen on a surveillance camera loading identical items into a separate cart near the back wall.
The man left the store with the purchases he paid for, then returned to the woman who was waiting near the front of the store.
They walked out of the store together with the second set of items. The man appears to be holding the receipt from the earlier purchase.
Surveillance shows the couple walking to a silver sedan and loading the items into the car, then leaving the parking lot north on Vista Grande Boulevard.
