Alleged bank robber in court
Accused bank robber Jarell R. Williams is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for a review hearing. Williams, 26, was arrested within minutes of the Jan. 4 robbery after a motorist spotted a car matching the description of the getaway vehicle and followed him to a Carson Valley ranch.
Genoans meeting tonight
Members of the Genoa Town Board are meeting 6:30 tonight to discuss major projects they’d like included in the Douglas County Capital Improvement Projects Program and the town budget for 2013-14.
Family fitness
Scarselli Elementary School is hosting a family fitness night 6 p.m. Tuesday in the lunchroom. There will be free games, activities, snacks and water.
Blustery weather
It’s going to be windy today as a cold front rolls into the Eastern Sierra and Western Nevada. Expect winds of up to 40 mph tonight across the region, with stronger winds on Wednesday gusting to 50 mph. 6 inches of snowfall is expected at the higher elevations of the Tahoe Basin, with light rain possible in the Valley.
