The RC Morning Report for June 17
A noninjury accident is being reported by the Nevada Highway Patrol on Highway 395 at mile marker 16 which places it around Bodie Flats by my reckoning. The accident was reported at 6:37 a.m., according to the NHP Web site.
A fire weather watch for Monday has been cancelled, but expect a red flag warning to start noon Tuesday as a very dry air mass moves into Western Nevada. Today the wind will pick up to 10-20 mph, gusting to 25-30 mph. Wind will be strongest in the north as the weather system moves into the area.
It’s going to be another long morning in District Judge Michael Gibbons’ courtroom with 10 cases, but just one sentencing. That’s for Travis Ray Schwichtenberg, who admitted he stole from Target numerous times. He is accused of taking $650-$3,500 in items May 8-22, 2012.
We’ll see sunny skies with a high temperature near 83 this morning. The wind will be out of the west, 5-10 mph increasing to 10-15 mph in the afternoon, expect gusts of up to 25 mph.
