The R-C Morning Report for Sept. 8

A Park Ranch Holdings proposal to change the master plan and zoning to allow 2,900 homes on property north of Minden and Gardnerville is 1-1 after the town boards split their recommendations. Gardnerville Town Board members voted to recommend approval, while Minden voted against. The project goes to the planning commission in October and to the county commission in November.

The Douglas High School homecoming celebration could see the return of a small parade in Minden on Sept. 28. Town Board members will meet next week to finalize plans with the school’s leadership class. One of the ideas is a small parade down Esmeralda Avenue. Another is an alumni tailgate party in Minden Park.

Today’s forecast is pretty much stuck for the next couple of days with it just getting warmer through Saturday. Look for sunny skies, a high near 87 and winds out of the west at 5 mph.
