Genoa, Nev. — Park Ranch Holdings’ 2,900-unit development proposal is scheduled to go to Minden tonight. Under the proposal the Parks would eliminate receiving area in TRE and Holbrook. Minden meets 5:30 p.m. tonight at the CVIC Hall.

There was a 2.4 earthquake along Highway 89 on the road to Monitor Pass at 4:44 a.m. today.

A candidate for Congressional District 4 in California plans to ride the district on a bicycle starting in Markleeville 11 a.m. today. He’s going to ride to Woodfords and then up to South Lake Tahoe. Dr. Bob Derlet’s attempt to unseat Republican Rep. Tom McClintock will face a steeper hill than any he’ll ride in the Sierra today.

Not much difference in the weather today compared to Tuesday. Expect sunny skies, a high of 85 degrees and a light easterly breeze in the afternoon. Off on the horizon,there’s a slight chance of showers on Monday and Tuesday.
