The R-C Morning Report for Sept. 21
September 21, 2016
Genoa, Nev. — The county's stormwater management meetings wrap up today at the Fish Springs Volunteer Fire Department, which was the scene of an Aug. 6, 2014, night flood on Pine Nut Creek. The meeting starts at 6 p.m.
I can smell rain this morning, but it won't stay today, as the wind picks up at noon bringing both a red flag warning and a wind advisory. Expect southwest winds 15-25 mph this afternoon, gusting to 45 mph at times.
It appears last night's wind blew the smoke out of the Valley. That Owens River Fire turned out to be 5,443 acres. Firefighters have a line around a third of it. There's not much active burning on it this morning.
We'll have cooler temperatures today, and even cooler temperatures on Thursday. Expect a high today of 76 degrees with mostly sunny skies. That drops to 60 on Thursday.
