The R-C Morning Report for Sept. 15

Genoa, Nev. — Douglas County commissioners are expected to appoint a planning commissioner to replace Jim Beattie, who resigned from the board. Up for the advisory position are Kingsbury resident Natalie Yanish, Zephyr Cove resident Stacy Noyes and East Valley resident Eldon Devere Henderson. Beattie’s resignation is effective Sept. 30, so he’s got one more meeting.

Also before commissioners is the ranking of two projects for a federal block grant, including the Gardnerville Eagle Gas Station project and the Carson Valley Arts Council Storm Drain Relocation project. Commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. at 169 Highway 50 in Stateline.

Attendance at the county’s storm water management meetings went from a respectable flow to a rivulet by the time they got to Gardnerville on Wednesday. Three people attended. On Monday they’re headed up to Lake Tahoe.

Weather will be more of the same today, with sunny skies and a high temperature of 77 degrees. Expect the wind to pikc up out of the east in the afternoon at 5 mph.
